Purpose

  • Applying diverse educational methodologies to integrated dance education for children and youth with an invited international choreographer
  • Enhancing the artistic capabilities and movement activities of parents and children through stimulation and feedback
  • Introducing a new vision for the creation of integrated dance and education

Content

  • Creating empathy and developing non-verbal communication skills through ice-breaking activities
  • Experimenting with activities where movements expand into dance through physical contact
  • Discovering the beauty of our bodies and attempting to maximize movement by connecting time and space

Image and Body

  • Sketching imaginary objects through bodily movements
  • Expanded movements through interaction with others
  • Amplifying movements with artistic elements

Space and Body

  • Freely walking and running within a space, interacting through physical stimulation
  • Developing creative activities where all movements are perceived as dance materials and shared with others

Expected Outcomes

  • Formation of physical bonds between parents and children and the improvement of individual non-verbal communication skills
  • Enhancing mutual understanding and expanding the scope of empathy through creative activities with parents and children
  • Expanding the developmental areas and enhancing creative abilities of children and youth through various perceptual stimuli

Choreographer Introduction

Dai Matsuoka

  • Graduated from Sophia University, Institute of Comparative Culture, Japan
  • Graduate of KUWASAWA Design School
  • Dancer for Sankaijuku 2005~present
  • Appeared in major works such as “Kinkan Shonen”, “Tobari”, “Unetsu” and “ARC”
  • Artistic Director of LAND FES 2011~present
  • Instructor for Scramble Dance Project based in Odawara 2018~present
  • Collaborated with artists such as Phantom Limb Company (NY) for "Falling Out" and Paola Prestini (NY) for "House of Zodiac"
  • Served as a curator of “Tokyo Real Underground”, the Tokyo FESTIVAL Special 13 program.
  • Life Kinetik® certified trainer

Scramble Dance Project is a creative collaborative involving people with and without disabilities
