kaksa

나무

Synopsis

The name of the dance is Kaksa and literally means wood. This particular choreography illustrates a character of nature fused together to represent one of the elements of life. Wood is strong and tough, but it has its challenges like strong wind or fire. And when it cannot face the challenge, it might snap or be burnt to ashes. Without forgetting the aesthetic value, dancers move hand in hand, poised naturally and supported by costumes and makeup resembling nature itself.

SCRAMBLE DANCE PROJECT

At Scramble Dance Project, both people with and without disabilities dance together. The project began in 2016 in Odawara city, Japan. All kinds of people take part in our workshops: people of various ages, occupations and abilities. Some are professional dancers, some work, some are students, some are in wheelchairs, and some can barely speak. But we all love to dance. The workshops are led by butoh dancers: first the late Ohno Yoshito, and now Matsuoka Dai. With the guidance of the leader, we move our bodies freely in response to music, atmosphere, light and wind.

Canto dos Malditos

두 악인의 노래

Synopsis

A solo-contemporary dance show that exacerbates in the body loneliness, failure, sadness, and hopelessness in the face of life's atrocities. Abranches brings to the scene, as an outburst, his conflicts and questions about man and his inconsistency about the precariousness of relationships that are never complete, about love and abandonment, the song of all the damned. The disaesthetics of movement is felt through abandonment and rejection, understanding that relief is in support of love.
